ISSUES

Public Safety is #1!  The first responsibility of government is to protect its citizens. In the past few years, I had my car stolen, my neighbor who's a single mom was burglarized in the middle of the night, and a major drug smuggling ring was raided, all on my block. As a member of the City Council, I will work day and night to secure more resources for the brave men and women in our Police Department and anything that community leaders and neighborhood councils feel will make our district safer. I will also advocate for the City Council and our state lawmakers to impose stricter sentences for criminals. I love living in the North West Valley and want to make it safe again.

No New Taxes! Not One More Dime!

With the endorsement of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC, I strongly stand against tax hikes including Measure EE. Measure EE is a property tax that will cost $160 for every 1,000 square feet of homes and other properties. VOTE NO ON MEASURE EE. Also, I strongly support Proposition 13 that protects homeowners.

Waste and Corruption - Taxpayer money used to keep our community safe and clean, but that is no longer the case. I will propose stricter rules to make sure the City Council works for the taxpayers and community and lobbyists and big donors. How many more FBI investigations do we need to see? We have former chiefs of staff leave working for the City Council and land jobs as lobbyists. We need a rule that forbids Council officials , their chiefs of staff and other senior positions from becoming lobbyists or taking jobs from companies that have donated to the campaign or have received city money and contracts for a period of time. I will fight every day to end corruption and give you a voice at City Hall.

Homeless Crisis  - Over the past few years, the homeless population has dramatically increased in the San Fernando Valley. We need to enforce our laws and advocate for new policies that combat criminal transients and aggressive panhandlers. There needs to be new policies for the homeless who are suffering from mental illnesses and those who are a danger to the community and themselves. We have to make sure our resources are going to homeless families, especially with children, disabled, elderly, Vets, and those down on their luck who want a “hand up” and not a “hand out”. We need to rethink how to solve this problem because “business as usual” isn’t getting it done.

End Sanctuary City - Los Angeles City Council recently passed a resolution declaring L.A. a sanctuary city. I fully support legal immigration, but we can't pick and choose which laws to follow.

Over Development - Over development and corruption seem to go hand in hand in our city as seen by recent FBI investigations. I will fight this and NEVER accept developer donations. My priority will be the community and not lobbyists. The North West Valley (District 12) is a special place and we deserve representatives that won't be bought. "This is the Valley. Not Manhattan!"

LAPD and LAFD - The North West Valley has the best police force and first responders in Los Angeles.  We need to make sure they have all the resources they need to keep us and themselves safe. A priority will be recruiting more police officers to District 12.

Education -  Teachers and students should feel safe in their schools, and get a quality education. I went to LAUSD schools from elementary to high school. I know how hard people work to make sure this happens.

Environment - We need to protect and maintain our parks like O’Melveny and trails in Chatsworth. I support safe and clean energy. We can never have leaks like Aliso Canyon again. We need to protect and take care of these areas.

Communication with the Community - In order to make sure the communities needs are being met, I will participate in Town Halls as well as attend neighborhood councils on a regular basis. It's time we get back to listening to the concerns of District 12.
